During the year 2010, the Philippines was hit by a tsunami which devastated most of this beautiful country. Our organization took initiative to build houses and donated $10,000 dollars to build five houses. It cost $2500 to build each home which were simple structures that only consisted of concrete walls with lights. Although this does not seem like much, for the residents of the neighbourhoods, these small houses were the only shelters they could rely on. Moreover, to help with this catastrophe, 12 of our students volunteered to go overseas to witness firsthand the devastation and to help with the construction of some of the houses.
